The IKOOMA brand was created in 2019 by a Belizean woman who was inspired by the challenges that curly hair textures face when traveling through Central America and living in a humid beach environment. IKOOMA currently operates as an artisanal business based in Placencia Village, Belize - home of the native red algae, Eucheuma isiforme

MISSION: IKOOMA provides results-driven and toxin-free formulations to all people with curly hair textures while directly sourcing seaweed from Placencia farmers.

VISION: IKOOMA hopes to become a regionally recognized green beauty speciality brand that serves curly hair of all ethnicities, as well as becoming a key player in increasing Belize's sustainable seaweed production, and providing an alternative livelihood to local fisherfolk and tourism stakeholders. IKOOMA offers omnidegradable refill pouches and plans to ditch plastic within the next 10 years.
